Is it permissible to investigate in personal / impersonal affairs of believers in order to enjoin good and forbid evil if we see them committing a ḥarām act or neglecting an obligatory one?
Answer #1384:
To investigate the administrative works of the clerks and others observing legal rules and regulations is no problem. However, to investigate in other’s work or in the acts and manners of the clerks in order to find out their secrets beyond the law is not permissible even for the related authorities.
