Presents and Gifts: Ownership of Gifts Exchanged Between Spouses During Marriage
English:
Question #1708:
Do the presents, given to the husband and his wife during their married life, belong to the wife, the husband, or both of them?
Answer #1708:
It depends on the type and nature of the present itself, on whether it is exclusive to men, women, or is for both of them. So, that which is destined for the husband or the wife should be exclusively his/hers. That which is apparently destined for both of them should be jointly owned.
