Presents and Gifts: Ownership of a Wife’s Jewellery Purchased by Her Husband After His Death

Are the items of jewellery, bought by a husband for his wife, considered part of his estate after his death so that they can be distributed amongst his heirs, including his wife?

Answer #1707:

If the items of jewellery have been at the disposal of the wife, so much so that she does with them as though she were the owner, they are rightfully hers unless it is proved otherwise.
