Prayer: What Is the Ruling on Demolishing Masjids for Road-Widening Projects?

Several masjids are located inside the area covered by a road-widening project. Therefore, it is necessary to demolish some of these masjids completely and some others partially in order to facilitate the traffic of motor vehicles. Please clarify your esteemed opinion in this regard.

Answer #401:

It is not permissible to demolish a masjid or a part of it except when there is a specific advantage which cannot be neglected and ignored.
