Prayer: Is It Valid to Pray Behind an Imam With an Amputated Limb, and What About Past Prayers Led by Them?
English:
Question #591:
I am a student of Islamic studies. My right hand has been amputated by a surgical operation. Recently, I came to realize that Imam Khomeini (q.) did not consider it correct for a person who has a part or parts of his body amputated to lead prayer for people who are normal. I would be grateful if you advise me about the rule regarding the prayer of those who offered their prayers behind me during this period?
Answer #591:
The previous prayers of those who followed you are correct if they did their prayers behind you without knowing the shar‘ī ruling. They are not to repeat them whether the time is expired or not.
