Does a mutah have a minimum and maximum set period?

Salaams,

No it doesn't have a minimum or maximum period; having said that - it is not something that should randomly abused - and the post here is a legal fiqh (jurisprudential) ruling - understanding and applying it requires more understanding and reflection.

Muta' is marriage - and it has its uses and value - but it is something that when misunderstood or manipulated open to great abuse, so it should be taken with caution and wisdom.

I invite you to our community where in our weekly calls you can join us and ask such questions and get a sensible and clear answer -rather than a short comment.

Tragically muta' is hugely abused by many in the Shia community; and this is primarily due to a lack of understanding both on the part of the laypeople as well as many of those who profess to be the clergy.

You can find our community at https://www.truthpromoters.com/. all the links for joining our groups and attending our weekly zoom calls are there.

With prayers for your success.
