Two years ago I purchased a piece of land to build a house. If I save some money from my daily expenditures to build my house, then would khums apply to this amount at the end of the year?

Answer #952:

If the money obtained from yearly income is spent before the end of the khums year to purchase the construction materials needed for the house, or you are going to spend it on constructing the house in the near future, it is not subject to khums.
