Khums: Do Reimbursed Medicines Remaining at Year-End Require Khums?

The medical insurance company has reimbursed the cost of medicines bought in the middle of the year from annual earnings, and if the medicines remain until the end of the khums year without becoming unusable, are they liable to khums?

Answer #903:

If they were purchased to be used when needed and there is a good chance of using them, they are not liable to khums.
