Khums: Can an Employed Sayyid Receive Khums?

Does a sayyid, who has a job and earns for himself, have the right to take khums or not? I would be grateful if you could explain it.

Answer #1016:

If he eanrs enough for his livelihood in a usual manner and in accordance with his social status as per common view, he is not considered as needy and has no right to take khums.
