Buying and Selling: Ruling on Revoking Guardianship Due to Harm to Minor’s Property

Question #1488:

Can the authorised religious authority withhold the right of guardianship over a minor child from his natural guardian after concluding that he is doing harm to the property of the child?

Answer #1488:

Should the authorised religious authority be satisfied by way of evidence that the continuance of the guardian having the right of disposal over the child’s property would be detrimental to the child’s welfare, he is obliged to dismiss him.
